I was surprised to learn from a fellow boardie, kajiryouji, that Todd McFarlane has decided to close down the forums on Spawn.com in favour of going completely with a social networking scheme--- which I think is a mistake...
Ordered 750 grams of Polymorph Plastic
One of the problems with experimenting with making your own parts is the high cost of casting plastic.
I've been looking into re-usable solutions for prototyping objects; in particular, various kinds of joints and body parts for scale models and pose-able figures.
I just ordered 750 grams (~1.65 lbs) of polycaprolactone pellets.
Where are you, Miku?!
My Miku Append Ver. Figma has spent a record 17 days in Customs! I believe this is the longest period of time that any shipment of mine has been held back by Customs.
At least I can take comfort in the fact that I didn't pay for EMS shipping. Man, would I be pissed if I had paid much more for express shipping only to have package held back by Customs for a period of time comparable to SAL delivery times.
At any rate, I just hope Customs hasn't lost my shipment!
Too good to be true: $120 USD for file folders
"If something looks too good to be true, it probably is."
That's a motto to live by, especially if you partake in online auctions.
This collector shelled out quite a bit of cash for the wrong kind of items...
Slow on the Hobby Front: Miku Append on the Way
Now that Fall is practically upon us, I have a tonne of end-of-season tasks to complete before the cold and wet weather sets in.
Being the masterful procrastinator that I am, I'm now rushing to get all of them done. So it's been slow on the hobby front for me at the moment.
The only thing I have incoming at the moment is the Miku Append Ver. Figma, which is languishing in customs right now...
Long Awaited Metroid Figures
The guys over at Spawn.com forums have aggregated news on new Samus Aran (Metroid) figures previewed at the recent Wonder Festival, Summer 2011 exhibition.
I know a lot of Metroid fans and figure collectors who've been waiting for a decent Samus Aran figure for a very long time.
Now their wish has finally been granted!
Black Rock Shooter Game Version Figma Pre-Order
The Game Version of Black Rock Shooter is now available for pre-order from AmiAmi.
I thought that having the original anime version of Black Rock Shooter was good enough. But having the will power of Jell-O like consistency, I ended up pre-ordering her anyway.
I had a little bit of pre-order remorse after placing the order but after having seen the Black Rock Shooter opening animation sequence (below), I'm more excited about my purchase even though I can't atest to the quality of the game itself.
